Scott is a Principal with an executive search and advisory services firm he founded to serve emerging and mid-cap companies. His recruiting experience includes successful engagements for industry-leading, public companies such as BellSouth, Cingular Wireless, Coca Cola Enterprises, Cousins Properties, Cox Communications, and Southern Company, as well as many emerging private organizations such as Invisible Fence, Media1st, Morrison Homes, and Pathfire. Scott has also had the privilege of recruiting for national non-profit organizations, including FamilyLife (a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ), The National Science Center, and Prison Fellowship (founded by Chuck Colson, former aid to President Nixon), as well as local non-profits like the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Georgia Family Council (an organization spawned by Focus On The Family).
In addition to directing Convergence Recruiting on a full-time basis, Scott is the volunteer Executive Director for Half Time of Georgia, a non-profit ministry dedicated to equipping business professionals on their journey from "success to significance." Earlier in his professional career, Scott worked for one of the world's top-five retained executive search firms. He was subsequently recruited by a highly regarded boutique firm to serve as the primary recruiter and operations director. In addition to Scott's work in the search industry, he has over 10 years of business ownership experience. (Prior to becoming an executive recruiter in the mid 1990's, Scott bought, operated, and sold a business that was ultimately acquired by a Fortune 500 company.)
Scott is naturally "hard-wired" to be an effective listener, someone that derives great satisfaction from helping others succeed, and an intuitive connector of people…several characteristics that boost the effectiveness of a recruiter. Scott indicates that "In a day when post 9/11 surveys reveal that significant numbers of executives want to change careers, I feel very fortunate to be combining my career as an executive recruiter with my natural gifts and passions to serve clients."
Scott earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Georgia. He is an active member of Perimeter Church and participant with High Tech Ministries. Scott is also serving on the advisory board for MarriageNet, and is a member of the Executive Advisory Council for DBM. He and his wife of 20+ years live in Atlanta, Georgia with their two children. Scott enjoys outdoor and family activities, including camping/hiking, skiing, and tennis, as well as reading and politics.
